Cultural Scripture

Today at the EFC Young Adult/College get-together, we went to Brazilian BBQ (yay!). For some reason, someone brought up that in this verse: “Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. He said to Jacob, ‘Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!’(Genesis 25:29-30) that the “red stew” in Chinese is translated to “hong dou tang.”

Of course, that made us joke about how Jesus said that he was the “you tiao” of life. And that the cup in his hand was filled with “dou jiang.”

Sorry for the blashphemy. =(
