It’s All in His Hands Now

So it’s over–the USC Trustee Scholarship interview. Explore USC was so awesome, just hanging out with everyone and actually visiting so many more places than on those summer walking tours. The interview I guess was alright… but it’s always hard to say how well these things go. We’ll find out in late March.
Right now, I’m kinda feeling bummed… I mean, USC is my first and only choice. Northwestern, I don’t care about you. UNC, you’re nice, but nowhere as nice as USC. Maryland… you’re don’t take advantage of your location and you don’t value your programs as much as USC. And there I was, wanting to go to USC so much… surrounded by people who also got the opportunity to interview for the same scholarship but for them, USC is not their first choice. No, they’re looking at Yale and Stanford and stupid schools like that. Agh my heart just aches thinking about it all.
I’ll either be really happy or on the verge of a breakdown in late March. But it was nice seeing people at Harvest LA. Oh, and Rhett, if you see this, since you visited this site before (still don’t know how you got its address)… thanks for being an awesome host and answering all our questions.
3 for 3!

Okay I’m pretty much done with my college choices now. Got accepted into Maryland, which includes: University Honors, Gemstone, Honors Humanities, and oh yeah–got accepted into their Phillip Merill College of Journalism.
I guess I could wait to hear back from Northwestern, but it was never one of my first choices anyway. For now, it’s back to doing more scholarship forms. And maybe setting up a PayPal account so people can donate to the “Get Daniel into College Fund.”
Out of Control!

Just got the phone call–I’m Maryland State Journalist of the Year!
Well, STUDENT journalist of the year. But that’s still way cool. And again, unbelievable. Now it’s just on to the National Journalist of the Year competition. I don’t think I will do too well in that, but if God wants to surprise me, I’m completely fine with that. Haha
Now if I could only find out about some more scholarships…
