Busy January

Carnegie was fun. Good memories. I have to admit, I was a little uneasy at first because even though I’ve seen my roommates for years and years in orchestra, I never talked to them at all. But they turned out to be pretty cool. Except for the whole bathroom business. Someone tell me why Hyatt hotels (been to two of them in the past 3 months) do not have those bathroom vents. Playing at Carnegie was cool I guess, but I already did that freshman year. It was just fun hanging out with peeps. Highlight of trip: eating korean bbq. Ah… bliss.

Of course, the sucky part was coming back and having to go take exams. That and the fact that I had to leave NY early so I could give a speech to accept this Martin Luther King, Jr. Award. Yeah… exams sucked. Oh but I need to do so well! I’m worried. But I always worry, and it never gets me anywhere.

At least it snowed yesterday. Definitely cool. More snow to come. Here’s a couple pictures of the snow!

Summer’s pee which burned a hole into the snow:

Driving in the snow was nerve-racking without 4-wheel drive and a v6 engine. Had to keep switching between 2 and 1. But we got home safe, and that’s the important thing:

New York!

Farewell everyone. I am going to Carnegie Hall to play. Actually, to play IN Carnegie Hall. Same thing. I’ll be back REALLY early Monday morning so I can go to some awards ceremony (not as early) Monday morning. And then it’s all exam week from there! Hope that I get enough time to study!

And pray that I don’t fall into the Subway tunnel, get mugged, get shot, get killed, get murdered, get raped, get lost, or any of the kind of bad stuff that can only happen in a big city like New York. I guess it could happen anywhere…but they only make movies of that kind of stuff happening in big citlies like New York.

In the words of many of my friends at school:

“Peace out homies.”

Macworld Expo Jan 05

mac mini Dude this thing is so tight. It’s so small but powerful and so inexpensive. I hear a lot of peeps want a go at this new Mac. It’s 500 bucks, slightly larger than a car stereo, and uber sexy. Heck, at 500 bucks it costs roughly the same thing as my korean girlfriend. What a hard choice. They’re BOTH sexy.

The rest of the Expo wasn’t that great. iPod Shuffle is alright (didn’t expect much from that) iWork is cool if it was free, and iLife is definitely cool…especially Garageband 2. I’m really disappointed that 10.4 Tiger isn’t out yet. Nor is my muchly coveted Powerbook G5. Yeah.. hopefully they’ll come out in July so I can buy one (it comes free with iLife!) and go off to college. I refuse to go to college without both of those things. Okay maybe a Powerbook G4 with dual processors will suffice.

Help I need money. And hopefully the rest of the Expo will have other cool stuff.
