Getting into College
December 15th, 2004 Entries
A lot of people that I know are getting into college. Yes, those letters of “we want you here” have been starting to pop up in people’s mailboxes. Quite exciting, really… for everybody getting them except for me. Well, not because I’m not getting into college. But more like… the earliest I’ll know from any school, even though I did early action, is January (UNC), February (UMCP), or April (USC).
But for now, I’m learning patience as everybody else finds out about their colleges, and re-evaluating college life. I think everybody around me is applying to like 8 colleges, while here I am, done with three and doing Northwestern because my mom wants me to try that one. But where would I really be happy? I think that’s a main issue. Yes, I know college is all about learning, not enjoying yourself, but heck.. it’s life! I SHOULD enjoy at least spending my next four years there.
UMCP is close to home, so that’s kinda cool. Can come home and bug Whitney and stuff, but I’m just a little tired of Maryland. UNC is kinda out there, and I don’t really know anyone in NC at all, but at least I like the school and its programs. And then there’s USC. Man, it’s the ideal place for me. Love the school and program, great weather and food, and there are family and friends. Man.. decisions, decisions and decisions.
I know that I won’t be making the final decision though. It’ll be how much money I actually have. So bring on the scholarships and full rides and make the decision hard for me, college. Please?
College apps

To juniors in high school:
You guys have it easy. I don’t know why everyone says that junior year is the hardest, but that’s a lie. You’ve been lied to. And that’s bad. Really bad.
Honestly, senior year is the worst. Yeah, SATs are bad, but it gets worse senior year. Besides all those harder courses than junior year, if your SATs were bad, the only last time to take them are between October to December. And guess what! That’s the same time for early decision college apps! Yeah. In the words of “Hamlet,” “POOH.”
But yeah. that’s about it. Anyway, who’s done with UNC and UMCP early decision apps, as well as Robertson Honors Scholarship and Maryland Media Inc. Scholarship stuff?! ANSWERS: DANNN!! MEE!! And now to the important stuff: USC and like 3 scholarship stuff due the same day for it.
FUNN =D
